As the centerpiece of a major, six-square-block revitalization of Palm Springs for Grit Development, the Rowan Hotel will bring back a culture of luxury and elegance to the heart of downtown.
The six-story, 170-room boutique hotel’s design references the rich modernist roots of the City—with predecessors like the Oasis Hotel, the Biltmore Hotel, and Bullock’s department store, the Rowan continues the legacy of gracious modernism on which the city has been built.
Patterned concrete block, filigree screening, and perforated metal sunshading create the subtly transforming texture of shadow under the desert sun, and a large “oculus” window punctuates the Hotel lobby – framing a distinct and dramatic view of the San Jacinto mountain range. Atop the Hotel, the skyline pool and entertainment terrace will give the desert traveler a unique and striking viewpoint of the city.
